This one was serious. A propane tankless water heater caught fire - and when that happens, the unit is done. No repair, no patch job. It has to come out.
Here's what we were working with: a fire-damaged Rinnai tankless unit mounted in an outdoor enclosure. The internals were cooked - burned wiring, heat damage throughout the burner assembly, rust and corrosion on the connections below. This isn't something you nurse along. A water heater that has caught fire is a safety hazard, plain and simple.
We pulled the damaged unit out completely, prepped the existing enclosure and plumbing connections, and got a new unit installed and running. Total cost to the homeowner - under $900, installed. That's not a lowball number with hidden fees. That's the real, out-the-door price for a full swap.
A lot of people don't realize how fast a water heater situation can turn dangerous. If your unit is making strange noises, putting out a burnt smell, producing discolored water, or just stops heating altogether - those are warning signs worth acting on quickly. Waiting it out rarely ends well, and in cases like this one, it can become a genuine fire risk.
We handle tankless water heater replacements, repairs, and new installs. Propane or gas, indoor or outdoor - we've seen it all and we're equipped to handle it fast.
